Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning (EPCIC) for Zuhal East Development Project for PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd.

Tarpon Platform Systems was awarded an Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning (EPCIC) contract for the Zuhal East Development Project by PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. The Zuhal East Field is located approximately 40km offshore from Labuan, Sabah. The Zuhal East development project comprises the fabrication of a 220 MT Well Head Platform and 200 MT caisson. The scope of works also comprised laying a pipeline (1 x 6” dia. x 5km length) connecting Zuhal East platform to SUPG-B and providing all necessary marine spreads for installation of the platform.

The Zuhal East Wellhead platform is a single guided caisson which accommodates 4 slots, designed to be drilled by a jack-up rig. The Wellhead platform is designed to be an unmanned platform, where there is minimal manual intervention and minimum facilities on board. Remote monitoring facilities from the SUPG-B platform were implemented to monitor the Zuhal East platform.

Due to its standardised design, Tarpon platforms have proven to be an economical and affordable alternative to the conventional multi-legged platform for field development, especially for use in marginal fields. Ultimately, the fabrication of a Tarpon platform aims to contribute to the advancement of the offshore oil and gas industry while minimising capital costs. Together with this installation, we have installed a total of over 60 platforms worldwide and are committed to maintaining the quality of our services. We look forward to future project opportunities and will continue our journey in expanding our offshore presence through enhanced marketing strategies.
